THE PROGRAM     April 24-May 1st

7 days of painting with in-depth instruction and critiques, breakfasts, most lunches, and a wine/olive oil tasting
DESCRIPTION:

The workshop includes seven days of instruction.  There will be one to two painting sessions per day.  The program size is intentionally limited to a maximum of 12 students.  This is intended to create an intimate learning environment for participants to flourish no matter the level of experience.

CAN I COME IF I HAVE NEVER PAINTED BEFORE?

It is my strong belief that given an open attitude, I can teach anyone to paint.  My classes are geared toward every level of student from beginner to life long painter.  Everyone will come back from the trip with new insights into landscape painting.   Each painting session we will break down the scene in front of us into simple ideas.  Then we will translate that idea on the canvas.  Instruction is gentle and positive.  Through demonstrations and historical examples students will learn to simplify and unify the the unfolding landscape of Tuscany.

PRICE INCLUDES:

Seven days of learning and instruction.  An in-depth exploration of the backroads of Tuscany.  Nightly accommodations in mid-level, characteristic Albergos and country hotels.   Most lunches consist of a bountiful array of fresh vegetables, cheeses, fruits, and local charcuterie (and a bit of wine). Most lunches will be "al fresco" in between our painting sessions.   Lunches out at a trattoria are usually at very special locations.  They are however, not included in the cost of the trip.  ALL dinners are included.  Wine is included!

SPOUSES OR NON PAINTING PARTICIPANTS:

Partners and Spouses are more than welcome to join us.  The cost is 2640 without instruction for a double occupancy room.  Please contact us for possible excursions separate from the painting group.

PRE TRIP ROME EXTENSION:

The pre trip extension is offered for so that we can visit some of the greatest works of art in Western Civilization.  It also allows us to work through our jet lag and gather art supplies for our painting trip.

Includes hotel room and one of a kind guided tours of Rome.  Please see the Pre Trip Extensions page for more information.

Food and museum entrances not included

DON'T FORGET:
Traveling in Italy is always an adventure.  Things like getting money have become so much easier, as modernity has found its way into these small towns.   Spring and Fall are the best times to visit Tuscany. The crowds have dissipated, the weather is not too hot, and life seems a little slower.
